Focus on Theory of Change
2023 series of events

This year, Le Cercle is focusing on the theme of theory of change in philanthropy. A theory of change defines long-term goals and maps backwards to identify necessary preconditions, interventions, and indicators to drive social change. Our programming, events, and resources in 2023 will explore why theory of change matters, how to develop one, and how it leads to more strategic, effective philanthropy. From workshops to webinars examining case studies, we will engage our network on how to apply theory of change thinking in their work. We aim to promote more rigorous evaluation, clarity of purpose, and alignment of activities among philanthropy practitioners. Our membership has valuable insights to share on theory of change across the sector. Join us this year as we delve into this crucial framework for social impact!

Le Cercle in Basel
Le Cercle in Basel on 26 April 2024
We are excited to finally organize Le Cercle’s first event in the german-speaking part. Our member Abel Mon Jardin has launched Philalia last year, and is hosting us for an afterwork in Philalia's exclusive premises in Basel’s Freie Strasse. At the event, we will have the privilege to hear from our member Kiara Marvuglio about Fondation Botnar's strategy process.
Save the date of 26 April to join us in Basel from 5.30pm - or online if you cannot make it over the Röstigraben.
General Assembly 21 June 2024
Our annual General Assembly will be held on 21 June 2024 in Geneva (hybrid can be organized upon members requests). Besides the usual agenda items, we will be presenting the Theory of Change, elect new board members (see next point), and decide about our next focus topic – ideas are most welcome!
Would you be willing to host us for the General Assembly? All we need is a room to host around 20 to 30 people for the late afternoon/evening. If you have an idea, please get in touch with Alex (secretary@cerclephilanthropie.ch)
